The Cleveland suburb of Garfield Heights, Ohio, has agreed to pay $80,000 to settle a federal civil rights lawsuit brought by a man who claimed he was subjected to police brutality after mocking and laughing at officers. The settlement not only calls on the city to pay up, but also to “provide mandatory and adequate training to all active-duty police officers” in regard to the First Amendment and other constitutional rights, local station WKYC reported.
