Blaqsbi Home Huddle

Two young black men, twin brothers, Quadro Nazir Lewis, found dead on top of Bell Mountain and Hiawassee, GA. Both shot. No signs of a struggle. Plane tickets to Boston still in their pockets, and the police know lay there doing this as unbelieving and self exiting. No, absolutely not. I'm not going for that. Because if you've been paying attention, if you know this country is history and how it erases black lives, you already know exactly what's happening here. Hiawassee, GA. A former sundown town. The kind of place that didn't need to say whites only because the silence, the stairs, the threat of what would happen if you stayed too long, did all all the talking. A town that was built, one exclusion, a town that was never meant for us, A town we're not too long ago, black people went missing and no one asked questions. And now two black young men, nineteen years old with a future ahead of them, end up dead. And before their bodies were even cold, The police already had an answer and aligning himself. Exit case closed. Nothing to see here, because that's what they always do, right ? Like when Kendrick Johnson was found rolled up in a gym mat. They called that an accident, like when Tam Lahars, four, was the only black woman in an all white party they said she felt like the thousands of black men, women and children who just disappeared in places that didn't want them there in the first place. Is the same pattern, the same cover - up. If a black person is found dead in a place where we're not supposed to be the first priority, injustice is just shutting down the conversation. If the story feels off, they push it away because they know that most people aren't going to question it. And if the family demands answers, they're met with silence. But we know what this looks like. We've seen this before, We've lived it. And we're not about to sit here and let history erase. These two young men, E - Cadherin Zero, Louis, weren't statistics. There were sons, There were brothers. They were two human beings with their entire lives ahead of them. They had dreams, They had plans. And none of those plans involve dying on a mountaintop in a place where they didn't belong. But now, instead of living their lives, their names are being used in a story that didn't add up. And what's worse is that we already know how this ends, right ? We already know the investigation. These are going to be quiet. The headlines are gonna fade. And before long, people are gonna stop asking what really happened. Because that's how It always goes Well, not this time because we won't forget. We don't forget. We don't move on. We don't let this go Because when black bodies turn up dead in a place like this, we know what's possible because this country has shown us over and over again that the truth is never what they tell us first. No, I don't believe them. And neither should you. Because until we start demanding the truth, the only thing we'll keep getting is the same old lie. Share, believe, inspire blacks be.
